When we are faced with a crisis and find it difficult to cope, or when we are miserable or depressed in our day to day lives, talking with a psychotherapist can really help.
My personal and professional experience is that we can make a difference to our lives through greater understanding of ourselves and others, and through constructive support. By working with my clients, each of whom is unique and with their particular combination of characteristics and issues, we explore what it is that has happened and importantly, how we can start to make positive changes. This can lead to greater awareness and clarity, and towards a more contented and better quality of life.
I work in a relaxed and conversational way, and I believe the relationship built between client and therapist is of great importance. People bring a wide range of issues including anger, anxiety and depression, low self-esteem and bereavement, and I use my experience as a parent to my work with clients, where applicable. I take a keen interest in how people shape and form themselves to face the world, and where my clients have wanted to work with these principles they have found them to be very rewarding.
I have been training in psychotherapy for 7 years with Spectrum Training, a humanistic, UKCP registered organisation, where I continue to develop my skills. Over the past 4 years I have worked as a psychotherapist with children, with adults at Richmond MIND and at my private practice in Kew. Please call or email me if you would like to talk about any concerns you have, or if you would like to meet with me for an initial meeting.
